Wigan Warriors or Latics only

Started by: Pyeyta (59)

Lets see some posts on here about our local teams for a change instead of Man Utd. I can't wait for the rugby season to start. If this gets hijacked by Eggbeater or his followers then I'm off to general in future. This is a Wigan thread just to see the response.

Not a chance of that I'm afraid it's either Trafford or nothing why else do you think I'm always after them? Good luck with it though you'll need it.

Can,t wait for the Rugby League season to start and we can see a game which has replaced football as the working man's and women's game!

Come on, Wigan!

I disagree,in as much as we should be free to discuss any team in any sport that Wiganers follow or support.
I myself am not fond of football but respect others Choice.
Up the Warriors!
More discussion less points scoring!!

On the Latics front, a very up and down Christmas period to report. We were definitely 2nd best in the first half against Derby but played much better after the half time changes. We could have had an equalizer although a draw would have been harsh on them. Carlisle a totally different story. We mullered them first half and were unlucky to have been only 2 up. The second half we looked leggy and took the foot off the pedal. A good win though. Next up, Barnsley away on New Years Day ( weather permitting ), then United in the Cup from the comfort of the North Stand ( but that's another story ). Can't wait for the Rugby to kick off again and I'm looking forward to the WCC. Onward and upward. Come on WIGAN !!

Both Derby and Carlisle should be commended for their supporter turn out, the North Stand virtually full on both occasions. I'll take the draw at Barnsley.

A hard game with new players in the team…it will be difficult as they have to gell

roylew,

Hopefully, it will not take long seeing that the bulk of the squad and the key players with the exception of King, Pearce-Paul and Smithies are still there

Up the Warriors!

All good for me so far.
The pack now looks big and aggressive, coach brought in to address goal kicking issue at the end of last season, and a running hooker to boot.
However, like Roy says,we will have to see how it all comes together

A cold but dry day at Barnsley. Gave away a soft goal just before halftime, after missing a couple. Second half we missed 2 sitters before our ' equalizer ' was disallowed for, who knows what. The goal duly followed and the game ended up a draw. In reality, we should have won 4-1. A big shout out to the 1000 and odd who made the trip. Now onto United on Monday. We'll have to be more clinical in front of goal to be in with a chance. Should be a cracking atmostphere, with some fans on a football ground for the first time in years :)

Matty Peets has done a brilliant job with the Rugby. Let's see how they go this term, especially with the Aussie's in town next month.

The Warriors have a tremendous squad. I just hope the rumours flying around that we are signing Grace prove to be false. We don't need him at all.
